Microsoft Office 2019 is now available for Windows
Today we are talking about the general availability of Office 2019 for Windows. Microsoft Office 2019 is the next on-premises version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and Publisher.
Microsoft Office 365 provides the most productive and most secure Office experience, with a minimum cost of ownership for cloud-connected version office, deployment, and management. However, for customers who are not ready for the cloud, Microsoft Office 2019 is providing new features and updates to the on-premises application for both users and IT professionals. Like the Windows Long Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) release, Office 2019 offers a set of valuable enhancements for customers who cannot be cloud-connected or receive regular updates.
Office 2019 is a subset of a long list of new enhancement features that have been added to Microsoft Office 365 over the past three years. Office 2019 is scheduled to be released once and will not receive feature updates in the future. However, we will continue to add new features to Microsoft Office 365 monthly, including innovations in collaboration, artificial intelligence (AI), security, and more.
Microsoft Office 2019 provides features in apps to help users create content in less time. In PowerPoint 2019, you can create cinematic presentations with new features such as Morf and zoom. And roaming pencil case like better Incoming FEATURES apps in Windows, pressure sensitivity and tilt Ifekts- allow you to naturally documents.
Microsoft Office Excel 2019 adds powerful new data analysis features, including new formulas and charts and PowerPivot enhancements.
Office Word 2019 and Microsoft Outlook 2019 help you to focus on what matters most. Reading tools, such as read aloud and text space, make it easy to connect with your content and the focus mode prevents distractions and keeps your content in front. Microsoft Office 2019 also includes new IT values for enhanced security and streamlined administration. We introduced Click-to-Run (C2R), a modern deployment technology in Microsoft Office 2013, and are now used to update Microsoft Office across millions of devices worldwide. With Microsoft Office 2019, we are moving the on-premises versions of Microsoft Office to C2R to reduce costs and improve security. The benefits of C2R include monthly security updates, up-to-date apps upon installation, reduced network consumption through Windows 10 download optimization technology, and an easy upgrade path for Microsoft anticipated. C2R provides the same enterprise-centric management capabilities as Microsoft Installer (MSI) based products and will also support in-place upgrades when moving from older MSI-based products to Microsoft Office 2019. The 2019 release of Microsoft Office 365 products also includes updates to our servers, and in the coming weeks, we have released Exchange Server 2019, Skype for Business Server 2019, SharePoint Server 2019 and Project Server 2019.
Microsoft Office 2019 is a valuable update for customers who are not yet ready for the cloud. And every time we release a new on-premises version of Office, and customers ask us if this will be our last. We are happy to confirm that we are committed to other on-premises releases in the future. While the cloud provides real benefits in productivity, security and total cost of ownership, we believe that each customer is at a different point in adopting cloud services.
